Bitmap exports
« on: November 09, 2009, 01:26:37 AM »
I am having a bit of a problem with exporting in bitmap formats. When I export a figure in .png, .jpeg, .pcx or .tiff even simple curves like circular arcs appear very ragged. If the figure is scaled down gaps start to appear.

This does not happen with .eps exports that are nice and smooth, but the program I need them for (EXP 5.1) only inserts bitmap pictures. Is there a way around this? I am using Windows XP Professional and WinFIG 3.03 .

Thank you.

Use the "smoothfactor" option to apply anti-aliasing.

Sorry, I don't know what anti-aliasing or "smoothfactor" option are. Is it in WinFIG or something you do after exporting?

It's an option on the "bitmap" page of the export Dialog.
