Line jumps
« on: November 11, 2019, 11:41:31 AM »
It would be great if WinFIG supported so-called "line jumps" when making flowcharts, such as supported in draw.io (see figure).

Line jumps or line bridges are used to show that crossing lines are not connected to each other. Currently, I make my own line jumps by connecting lines and arcs, but it would be nicer and much quicker if WinFIG would support "automatic" line jumps.

Hi, yes, probably a nice feature. The problem is that the Xfig file format has only some kind of simple shapes. I would need a way to add a complex shape that is not presented as a regular compound object but with customized handling. It would be something like a typed compound. The same would be required for making labelled arrows.

Perhaps I can talk to the current author of Xfig to add that feature to the file format.
